Manchester, Jamaica — An 18-year-old man has been arrested and charged following a stabbing incident in Knockpatrick, Manchester. Sanjay Williams, a labourer of Hillside Close in the parish, is facing charges of wounding with intent after allegedly stabbing another man during a confrontation.
According to police reports, the incident occurred around 2:00 am on Friday, June 28, on Green Street. The victim and a relative were attending a party in the community when Williams approached the man. After a brief verbal encounter, Williams allegedly used a knife to stab the man in his side.
Following the attack, Williams fled the scene. The victim was attended to by emergency services, although the severity of his injuries has not been disclosed.
After several weeks, the police apprehended Williams during an operation in the parish on Tuesday, September 10. He was charged two days later, following an interview conducted in the presence of his attorney.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and Williams is expected to appear in court to face the charge of wounding with intent.
