MANDEVILLE, Jamaica — The Manchester Police have announced the successful capture of three wanted men over the past eight days as part of intelligence-led operations in the parish. Two of the individuals were wanted by other police divisions for serious crimes.
The first arrest took place on Friday, December 27, 2024, when 34-year-old Kemar Levy, also known as “Twinnie,” was apprehended in the Mandeville Car Park while traveling in a taxi. Levy, who has ties to Tavares, Kingston 11, and Greenvale, Mandeville, was wanted in connection with an October 2023 shooting incident in Greenvale. He has since been charged with wounding with intent, with investigators considering additional charges.
The operations intensified into the New Year, leading to two more arrests on Wednesday, January 1, 2025.
In one operation, a suspect wanted by the Kingston Central Police Division for the murder of 57-year-old Leroy Williams of Mount View Estate, Spanish Town, St. Catherine, was taken into custody.
In a separate operation on the same day, another man was arrested at a guesthouse in Manchester. He is wanted by the police in Montego Bay, St. James, in connection with a case of robbery with aggravation.
The Manchester Police have vowed to continue their aggressive approach to tackling crime in 2025 and have called on wanted individuals hiding in the parish to surrender themselves immediately.
Residents are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or unfamiliar persons in their communities by contacting the Mandeville Criminal Investigations Branch at 876-961-5538 or 876-962-2832, or by calling Crime Stop at 311.
Authorities say these arrests mark a promising start to the New Year as the division reinforces its commitment to public safety.
