KINGSTON, Jamaica — A pre-dawn gun attack in Trench Town, St Andrew, left one man dead and a woman nursing gunshot wounds early Friday morning.
The deceased has been identified as 49-year-old Corey Dixon, otherwise called ‘Corey Max’, of a Rema, St Andrew address. The injured woman is said to be 44 years old.
Reports are that around 2:00 am, Dixon and the woman were catching water and conversing along Fifth Street when a motor vehicle approached from the East Road direction. Gunmen reportedly opened fire, hitting both individuals before speeding away.
Residents rushed to assist and raised an alarm. The victims were taken to hospital, where Dixon was pronounced dead. The woman remains hospitalized.
Police are investigating the incident. No motive has yet been established.
