Man Sentenced to Life for Killing St James Boys

(Alan Lewin – News Reporter):  A man who reportedly lured two children from a beach in Montego Bay to a Pond in Martha Brae in Trelawny over six years ago was sentenced to life imprisonment in the Trelawny Circuit Court last week.

He is Jason Grey, of Trelawny. Grey will have to spend at least 29 years in prison before he is eligible for parole. The children were Omari Sterling, 12 years old at the time and Meleeka Mitchell both of Norwood in St James. The children went with their family to the beach in Montego Bay, and Grey lured them away, saying he was going to buy them meals at a fast-food outlet. He strangled them. Their bodies were discovered in a Pond in Martha Brae in Trelawny, three days after they went missing. Boys who were playing in the area at the time made the gruesome discovery.
