Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: One man is in police custody and a firearm seized, whilst another is being sought by the police following a running gun battle between them in Half-Way-Tree, St. Andrew yesterday afternoon, Friday, June 7.
Five people received gunshot injuries during the melee. One of them has since succumbed.
The incident, which occurred approximately 5:00 p.m., started at a plaza on Constant Spring Road and continued onto Courtney Walsh Drive. An off-duty Policeman and other officers, who saw the incident, intervened and apprehended one of the assailants. A firearm was also taken from him.
The injured persons were taken to hospital where they are receiving treatment.
