Montego Bay, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Man Facing Gun Court For Shooting, Shot and Killed: A man who the Freeport police say was before the Western Regional Gun Court on charges of Illegal Possession of Firearm, Ammunition and Shooting with Intent, was shot and killed by a group of gunmen in downtown Montego Bay on Friday afternoon, June 16.
An elderly man and a teenage boy were also shot and injured during the incident, they are presently at hospital in serious but, stable condition.
Police reported that the man facing gun court, Elvis Malcolm, 24-year-old of Canterbury and Ruben Robinson were jointly charged with Illegal Possession of Firearm, Ammunition and Shooting with intent last year 2016.
They further stated that the men were jointly charged for allegedly shooting at a team of police officers.
They both attended court today, June 16 and their bails were extended to July 20th, 2017.
Malcolm was on his way from Court, when on reaching the Stop light at the intersection of Queens Drive, St James Street and Howard Cooke Boulevard, a group of men travelling in two motor car blocked his path.
The men brandished high powered weapons and open fire on him, hitting him all over his body. The two other bystanders were also hit during the process.
While making their escape along Queens Drive, one of the gunmen lost control of one of the vehicles which crashed into a wall. The men jumped from the car and escape on foot.
Family members of the victim who were in the area rushed to the scene and rushed him to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
