A Hanover man who went went fishing with friends in Sandy Bay, on Sunday morning, later drowned after he allegedly fell from the small boat into the sea.
The identity of the victim who is said to be a furniture maker of Montpelier Road in Sandy Bay, has not yet being released.
Residents reported that about 9:00am, the deceased went fishing in a small boat off the shores adjacent the Sandy Bay police station.
While at sea, the boat capsized, resulting in the victim getting into difficulties and drowned.
A group of fishermen rushed to his assistance, but by the time they managed to fish him from the water, he had already drowned.
