Man Charged With Illegal Possession Of Firearm And Ammuniton And Assault At Common Law

Jamaica News: One man has been arrested and charged following an incident that occurred along Half-Way-Tree road in Kingston 5 on Wednesday, August 19.

Charged with Illegal Possession of Firearm and Ammunition along with Assault at Common Law is 23-year-old Travis Davis of John Street, Kingston 16.

Reports are that about 10:50 p.m., the complainants were having a conversation when they were pounced upon by two armed men who demanded monies. A licenced firearm holder saw what was happening and opened fire hitting one of the men. He was taken to hospital where he was admitted under police guard.

One Smith and Wesson 9mm pistol along with eleven 9mm rounds of ammunition was handed over to the Police.

The accused was charged after a question and answer session.

His court date is to be finalised.
