Krishna Barrett, a 28-year-old chef residing in Holland Village, Elizabeth, has been arrested and charged in connection with a murder that occurred in 2021.
The deceased has been identified as 34-year-old farmer Isaiah Dixon from the same community.
The alleged murder took place on Saturday, July 17, 2021, when Barrett allegedly used a knife to stab Dixon multiple times in the upper body. Despite the arrival of law enforcement, Barrett managed to flee the scene, evading capture for over two years.
However, on Thursday, February 1, authorities successfully executed an operation resulting in Barrett’s arrest. Alongside the murder charge, Barrett faces additional charges related to the possession of a prohibited weapon.
Deputy Superintendent Coleridge Minto, head of the St. Elizabeth Police, commended the dedicated efforts of the detective team involved in Barrett’s apprehension. He emphasized the ongoing commitment of law enforcement to uphold peace and order within the division.
Minto further urged residents to come forward with any information regarding criminal activity in the parish. Additionally, the public was reminded of the legal consequences of harboring a criminal, with assurances that violators would be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
