The St James police have confirmed the arrest and charging of a man in connection with the chopping death of another man in Mocho District, St James, on Friday.
The accused, identified as 21-year-old Odian Riley, a laborer from Mocho District, has been charged with the murder of a man known only as Jeremy, approximately 37 years old.
Reports indicate that Jeremy, who had mental health issues, was last seen alive in Mocho District, St James, the previous Wednesday.
On Friday around 7:00 am, Jeremy was discovered with his hands and feet bound, tied to a utility pole in a section of Mocho District. His hand had been severed, and he had sustained multiple stab and chop wounds to his upper body.
Following an investigation, Riley was apprehended on Monday and subsequently charged with Jeremy’s murder.
Investigators have noted that the deceased was reportedly causing disturbances within the Mocho District community.
