Man Admitted to Cornwall Regional Hospital for Dengue Wanders off Hospital Compound and Falls to his Death

On Wednesday November 20th Raymond Deans was taken to Cornwal Regional Hospital for symptoms of dengue fever. He spent the better part of the day doing tests and results confirmed he was suffering from the disease. He was then admitted the following day, but also presented with wheezing and other respiratory symptoms therefore he was placed on oxygen .

On Sunday November 24 his family received the worst news possible that he had died.

The family automatically assumed that the dengue had killed him. However on further investigation the family discovered that Mr. Deans had wandered off the hospital compound unnoticed. Apparently no staff member realized that he left and he allegedly walked through the community of Mt Salem without being noticed.

Reports are that he fell over a bridge across from Island Grill to his death. His family is demanding answers from the hospital administration as to how such a sick man could leave the hospital without raising any alarm.
