Health and Wellness Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton said any decision to allow entertainment events will be based on a risk assessment.
Players in the industry have expressed frustration over the prolonged closure of the sector and absence of a plan for reopening.
While noting the concerns, Dr. Tufton highlighted the challenges of maintaining COVID-19 prevention protocols at entertainment events.
He said there is ongoing dialogue but reopening these events will depend on what is happening in the country as it relates to COVID-19 numbers.
Stakeholders in the entertainment sector have been lobbying the government to develop new guidelines to ease restrictions on the industry.
