United States – Reality TV personality Cashel Barnett, known for his appearance on Love Island (2019) and The Challenge: USA (2022), is facing a slew of serious criminal charges stemming from multiple incidents involving his ex-girlfriend.
Barnett, who has been in custody at a Utah jail since last month, was hit with three additional felony charges on Tuesday — including aggravated sexual assault, aggravated assault, and domestic violence in the presence of a child, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.
The disturbing allegations date back to November 2023, when Barnett allegedly slapped, choked, and sexually assaulted his ex-girlfriend, all while their one-year-old child was reportedly present.
Court filings allege the assault began after Barnett initiated unwanted sexual contact. When the victim responded with a kiss, he allegedly flew into a rage, accused her of “punishment,” and proceeded with the attack. The victim claims she briefly lost consciousness during the incident.
The altercation reportedly occurred after she had urged Barnett to find employment to help care for their child — prompting weeks of withdrawn contact, which eventually escalated into physical violence.
Barnett remains in custody without bail and is expected to be arraigned on the new charges later this week.
