The East Kingston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a licensed firearm holder, 37-year-old Alrick Sutton, who was gunned down Thursday night along Antrim Road in Vineyard Town.
According to reports, Sutton had just purchased eggs from a nearby supermarket around 7 p.m. and was returning to his vehicle when he was ambushed by gunmen. He attempted to flee but collapsed along the roadway.
Sutton was rushed to the hospital, but despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead.
Police continue to investigate the motive behind the attack and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
