Tiffanie Lucas, a 33-year-old Kentucky mother, pleaded guilty to two counts of murder for fatally shooting her sons, Maurice “Peanut” Baker Jr., 6, and Jayden Howard, 9, in November 2023.
Initially planning an insanity defense, Lucas claimed she was manipulated through social media and Wi-Fi. The incident unfolded in Shepherdsville, Kentucky, with police discovering the children after Lucas reportedly expressed regret at the scene. Her sentence, ranging from 20 years to life imprisonment, will be determined by the judge, as no plea deal was made.
Lucas, who had a prior drug possession conviction, faced concerns about her mental health and parenting capabilities. Family members, who had previously voiced concerns to authorities, expressed deep remorse over the tragedy.
