Kingston, Jamaica — The Jessie Ripoll Primary School community is mourning the tragic death of its principal, O’Neil Stevens, and his wife, Camesha Lindsay-Stevens, who were killed in a motor vehicle collision on Friday.
The heartbreaking news was confirmed by Vice Principal Marsha Moodie-Benbow in a letter addressed to the school’s board, staff, parents, and students.
While specific details about the location and time of the crash have not been disclosed, Moodie-Benbow confirmed that the fatal accident occurred on Friday.
In light of the tragedy, Moodie-Benbow announced that classes, originally scheduled to resume on Monday, January 6, will now begin on Tuesday, January 7. This decision was made to allow the school community time to process the loss and prepare for the return of students.
