A corporal attached to the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has been taken into custody and formally charged with rape after a ruling from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
The accused officer, identified as Norval Rowe, faces allegations that he sexually assaulted a 16-year-old girl while stationed at the Central Village Police Station in St Catherine.
According to reports, the alleged incident occurred at the police facility where Rowe was assigned at the time. Following investigations into the matter, the case was reviewed by the DPP’s Office, which directed that the charge be laid.
Rowe is also known publicly as the father of eight-year-old Danielle Rowe, whose killing in 2023 sparked widespread national outrage and grief.
Authorities have not yet released further details regarding the ongoing legal proceedings.
