Jamaicans Head to the Polls on September 3 – PM Holness Declares Election Date!

St. Andrew, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Prime Minister Andrew Holness has officially sounded the election bell! Jamaicans will head to the polls on Wednesday, September 3, with Nomination Day set for Monday, August 18.

The big announcement came Sunday night during a high-energy Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) mass rally in Half-Way Tree Square, where the Prime Minister declared to roaring supporters:

“Jamaicans, you now know the date, you now know the time — choose wisely, choose the Jamaica Labour Party!”

The crowd erupted in green, cheers, and vuvuzelas as Holness fired up the base heading into what’s expected to be a heated political season.

Meanwhile, over in Clarendon, the PNP was out in full force, rallying their supporters as the campaign trail heats up.
