Kingston, Jamaica (Mckoy’s News) – Government of Jamaica Launched 100 Million Dollar Fund: The Government of Jamaica will be providing JA$100M for information leading to the recovery of guns and ammunition. The reward will be administered by CRIME STOP and is not limited to information about firearms in the Zone of Special Operation (ZOSO).

This announcement was made by Prime Minister Andrew Holiness at a Press Conference held in Montego Bay St James on Sunday, September 3, 2017. According to the PM the proportion of the reward that will be paid out, will vary depending on the type of gun and amount of ammunition recovered from the information provided.

The reward has been increased by 200% or more. Cash amounting to $150,000 will be paid out accordingly for the recovery of rifles and submachine guns, $100,000 will be paid for the recovery of semi-automatic pistols and shotguns and $75,000 for the recovery of revolvers, while persons with successful information leading to the seizure of explosives and ammunition will be allowed to negotiate.
