Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson Fight Postponed: Fans eagerly anticipating the showdown between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson will need to wait a bit longer. The highly anticipated July 20 bout has been postponed after Tyson experienced a medical scare on an airplane.
Jake Paul’s promotional company, Most Valuable Promotions, announced the delay following a meeting with medical professionals about Tyson’s recent ulcer flare-up. On Thursday, doctors advised the boxing legend to engage in “minimal to light training over the next few weeks.”

Both fighters agreed that postponing the event was the best course of action to ensure they have equal training time leading up to the fight. This decision came as a surprise, as the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation had previously indicated that everything was on track for the original fight date.
Initially, Tyson seemed confident that his medical scare would not affect the fight, even claiming to be back to 100%. “I want to thank my fans around the world for their support and understanding during this time,” Tyson stated. “My body is in better overall shape than it has been since the 1990s, and I will be back to my full training schedule soon.”

The 57-year-old Tyson required medical attention aboard an American Airlines flight from Miami to Los Angeles last Saturday, just minutes before the plane was scheduled to land. Despite the health scare, Tyson continued to trash-talk his opponent, saying, “Jake Paul, this may have bought you some time, but in the end, you will still be knocked out and out of boxing for good. I appreciate everyone’s patience and can’t wait to deliver an unforgettable performance later.”
Jake Paul, 27, expressed his support for the postponement, stating, “I fully support postponing the event so Mike Tyson has no excuses come fight night. My fans know I don’t want to face Iron Mike at anything but his best, but let there be no mistake – when he steps into the ring with me, I will be ready to claim my W with a sensational finish. Paul vs. Tyson will be one for the ages, and I promise to bring my best for this once-in-a-lifetime matchup.”
The new fight date will be announced next month. Fans can look forward to an unforgettable clash when these two fighters finally step into the ring.
