MOSCOW, Russia — Italian social media personality Yulia Burtseva has died at the age of 38 after undergoing a cosmetic procedure at a private clinic in Moscow.
The procedure, carried out on January 4, reportedly took a critical turn when Burtseva’s condition rapidly deteriorated. She was transported to a hospital but was later pronounced dead, according to Russian media outlet MSK1.
Moscow authorities have since opened a criminal investigation into the incident, examining potential negligence connected to the surgery. Investigators are conducting multiple forensic analyses, including a medical examination, to establish the circumstances surrounding her death.
Burtseva, who resided in Naples, Italy, with her husband Giuseppe and young daughter, had amassed a following of over 73,000 on social media by sharing family life and personal updates. Her final post, uploaded the morning of her surgery to Russian platform VK, featured a video at a Moscow coffee shop with the caption, “Good morning Moscow 😘.”
The influencer’s untimely passing has sent shockwaves through her online community and highlighted concerns over cosmetic surgery practices abroad.
