Jamaica News, St Andrew: An investigation have now been launched to determine the cause of the fire which destroyed one of its buses, along hope road, in St Andrew, on Tuesday evening, May 14.
The Half Way Tree police reported that no one was injured during the fire.
Reports are that shortly after 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, the driver was transporting passengers along hope road.
On reaching a section of the roadway he was alerted that smoke was seen coming from the rear of the vehicle.
He immediately pulled over and ushered the passengers off the bus, and while in the process of using an extinguisher to fight the blaze, the entire bus burst into flames.
Commuters were sent scampering in fear that the vehicle might have exploded. The fire department was summoned and upon their arrival, the firemen managed the extinguished the blaze.
