CLARENDON, Jamaica: Illegal Gun Seized in Clarendon — Police seized an illegal firearm, ammunition, ganja and other items during a targeted operation in the communities of Howells Content and York Town, Clarendon, on Sunday, June 21.
Reports indicate that officers searched a premises and discovered a black C9 9mm pistol with its serial number obscured. The weapon was loaded with six 9mm rounds and was concealed at the rear of the property.
Further searches in the area led to the seizure of ganja, two Browning pistol magazines, seven .38 rounds hidden inside a bag of cornmeal, one 12-gauge cartridge, one 7.62mm round, and a black Blu cellular phone.
Several men were taken into custody in connection with the seizure as investigations continue.
Police say the operation forms part of ongoing efforts to remove illegal firearms and ammunition from communities and reduce violent crime across the parish.
