Jamaica Crime News, St James: A heavy detachment of security personnel has now been deployed in sections of Granville community in St James, after gunmen struck again on Thursday morning, shooting and injuring another member of the community.
The name of the victim who is presently at hospital, is being withheld by the police.
Reports by the police are that about 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, the male victim had just left his home and was heading to work.
On reaching the vicinity of the Granville Health Clinic, he was ambushed by armed men, who opened fire hitting him multiple times to his upper body.
The police were summoned and upon their arrival, the victim who was discovered lying in a pool of blood, was rushed to the Cornwall Regional Hospital, where he was treated and admitted in serious condition.
Since the start of the year, several shootings have taken place within the Granville community, and they have posed a major concern for residents and business operators.
