Jamaica is bracing for heavy rainfall and strong winds from Tuesday through Friday, as a tropical wave merges with a developing low-pressure system southwest of the island.
The Meteorological Service of Jamaica issued warnings of cloudy conditions, with heavy showers and thunderstorms likely to affect most parishes, particularly those in the south. Strong gusts and deteriorating sea conditions are expected along the southern coast.
Fishers and marine interests are urged to exercise caution due to worsening weather conditions and rough seas.
