Hanover: 7 Persons Shot at Montpelier Fish Fry Event

Hanover, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – 7 Persons Shot at Montpelier Fish Fry: An argument between two men at a Fish Fry event been held in the community of Montpelier in Sandy Bay, Hanover resulted in seven persons being shot and seriously injured.

Reports by the Sandy Bay police are that about 1:15 a.m. on Sunday, December 17, 2017 all seven victims, a 44-year-old and a 25-year-old, both masons, a 31-year-old and a 27-year-old both laborers, a 24-year-old and a 25-year-old, both hotel workers and a 21-year-old unemployed man were at a Fish Fry event which was held along the Montpelier main road. It is further reported that one patron got involved in an argument with another and both men reportedly drew illegal firearms and started to shoot at each other.

During the shooting, all seven persons were hit and they were rushed to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where they have been admitted and are being treated. Two of the victims are said to be in serious condition.
