Government Allocates $441 Million to Complete Christiana Tax Office

Approximately $441.7 million has been budgeted by the Government to complete construction of the Christiana Tax Office in Manchester, to replace the existing facility.

The sum is earmarked in the 2024/25 Estimates of Expenditure, tabled in the House of Representatives by Minister of Finance and the Public Service, Dr. the Hon. Nigel Clarke, on February 15.

Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) is spearheading the project’s execution, which commenced in January 2023 and will conclude in March 2025.

Programmed activities for the fiscal year include completion of the construction, observation for defects during the liability period, and completion of the procurement of furniture.

Up to December 2023, construction of the building was 40 per cent complete.

The project is being financed by the Government of Jamaica.
