Central Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – It was pure fire in Central Jamaica on Sunday night as PNP President Mark Golding dropped a bombshell announcement that sent the crowd into a frenzy — promising zero income tax for workers earning $3.5 million or less under the next PNP government!
The unexpected pledge came at the People’s National Party’s high-energy Central Jamaica Parish Meeting, where Golding made it crystal clear: “Help is coming for the people who need it most!”
“Our plan is to raise the income tax threshold to $3.5 million,” Golding said. “That means if you’re earning that or less — no income tax will be taken out of your pay. None!”
Golding slammed the Jamaica Labour Party’s tax and economic policies, saying they tilt in favour of the rich, while struggling Jamaicans are left behind. He positioned the PNP’s plan as a “game-changer” for working-class and middle-income earners across the island.
The crowd erupted in cheers and vuvuzelas as the PNP leader made it clear:
“We nuh inna no gimmicks. This is real relief for the people who a feel it!”
With the 2025 General Election drawing closer, this bold promise signals the PNP’s aggressive push to win the hearts – and votes – of working Jamaicans.
