The St Andrew South Police seized a Glock 26 pistol and ten rounds of ammunition during an operation along Ferguson Drive in Riverton, Kingston 11, on Monday, October 12.
Police reports indicate that officers were conducting an operation at about 4:00 p.m. when they discovered a bag hidden in a pigsty. Inside was the pistol, fitted with a magazine containing ten 9mm cartridges.
One man was taken into custody following the discovery. His identity is being withheld pending further investigations.
Police say the recovery marks the division’s fourth firearm seizure and forms part of ongoing efforts to disrupt the circulation of illegal weapons and improve public safety during the final quarter of the year.
