Georgia Man Shot Dead After Killing Cop – Patrick Joseph White Identified as Shooter

Atlanta, Georgia – Mckoy’s News:  A Georgia man is dead after unleashing terror near the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) headquarters in Atlanta, in a shocking daylight shootout that left one police officer dead and sent fear rippling through the CDC and Emory University community.

Dead is 30-year-old Patrick Joseph White, of Kennesaw, Georgia, who authorities say opened fire on Friday near the Clifton Road campus. Eyewitnesses described scenes of chaos and panic, as bullets flew and emergency crews scrambled to respond.

According to reports from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), White fired multiple rounds, striking buildings and triggering an immediate tactical response. One officer, identified as David Rose, was shot and killed in the line of duty.

Patrick White was also pronounced dead on the scene. Law enforcement has not confirmed whether he was killed by return fire or took his own life during the rampage.
