Manchester, Jamaica — A four-year-old child lost her life and her father was seriously injured after gunmen opened fire on their vehicle in Landsettlement, Manchester, on Sunday afternoon.
The deceased has been identified only as Sanoya, also known as “Summer.”
According to police information, the incident occurred shortly after 4:20 p.m. The child and her father were traveling in a black Toyota Voxy in an area known as Steel Tank when armed attackers reportedly discharged several shots at the vehicle.
Both victims were transported to the Mandeville Regional Hospital for emergency treatment. The young girl was pronounced dead on arrival, while her father was admitted in serious condition.
Investigators are continuing their probe into the fatal shooting.
