Five Persons Shot and Injured by Lone Gunman at May Pen Town Centre

Jamaica Crime News, Clarendon: Five persons, including the intended target who is a female vendor, were shot and injured by a lone gunman at the May Pen Town Centre on Sunday afternoon, June 24, 2018.

Reports by the May Pen police are that about 3:45 p.m. on Sunday, it was a busy day as usual for vendors and shoppers in the May Pen Town Centre. Minutes later, a man posing as a shopper, pulled a gun from a plastic bag and fired several shots at a female vendor who was doing business in the vicinity of the Denbigh/Four Paths bus Park.

The vendor was shot to her lower body but she managed to run in a bid to save her own life. The lone gunman gave chase while firing several rounds in the crowd of shoppers and other vendors who were running for their lives.

The gunman then made his escape in the area on foot while the police were summoned and upon arrival, the wounded victims were transported to hospital where they were treated and admitted.
