Manchester, Jamaica — Firefighters were called in early Sunday morning to rescue an occupant who was trapped inside a Toyota Wish motor car following a two-vehicle collision along New Green Road in Mandeville.
The crash, which involved two Toyota Wish vehicles, one reportedly being operated as a taxi, occurred shortly after 7:30 a.m.
According to preliminary reports from the Mandeville Fire Station, a call came in at 7:31 a.m. alerting emergency responders to the scene.
“One person was trapped and had to be removed from one of the cars by firefighters,” a senior source in the Jamaica Fire Brigade confirmed to Mckoy’s News.
The injured individual was assisted from the wreckage and rushed to hospital for treatment. Their condition is not immediately known.
Police and fire personnel remained on the scene for several hours conducting investigations and clearing the roadway.
