Westmoreland, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Female Vendor Murdered in LLandilo: The Savanna-la-mar Police are now carrying out investigations in the circumstances where a female vendor was shot and killed by gunmen, while on her way home in the parish of Westmoreland on Tuesday evening.
The dead woman has been identified as, 55-year-old Mamzel Powell, of Phase 5 Llandilo Housing Scheme.
Reports by the Savanna-la-mar Police are that, shortly after 6:30 pm on Tuesday, Powell who operates from the Negril Bus Park had just alighted from a taxi and was walking towards her home at the Llandilo Housing Scheme.
Minutes later she was attacked by unknown assailants who shot her and left her for dead. Residents in the area heard the explosions and alerted the police.Upon their arrival, a search was carried out and Powell was discovered in a cluster of bushes with gunshot wounds to her body.
She was transported to the Savanna-la-mar Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The investigators are now saying that robbery could have been the motive for this latest killing. Also, since the past five months, a total of six women have been brutally slain by gunmen in the parish of Westmoreland.
