ST THOMAS, Jamaica — The police in St Thomas have launched an investigation into the death of a man in Wheelerfield, Golden Grove, on Monday, and are searching for his son as part of the probe.
The deceased has been identified as O’Niel Anthony Ferrill.
According to reports, around 9:15 a.m., Ferrill and his son got into an argument over a piece of land. The dispute escalated into a physical confrontation before Ferrill left the scene on his motorcycle and rode away.
It is alleged that his son pursued him in a car and later caught up with him. The father was reportedly hit from his motorcycle during the encounter.
Ferrill was taken to the Princess Margaret Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police say the son fled the scene and is currently being sought for questioning.
Investigators are appealing to anyone with information to contact the Golden Grove Police, call 119, or reach out to the nearest police station.
