A six-year-old boy and his 53-year-old father lost their lives following a two-vehicle crash along the Fairy Hill main road in Portland.
The deceased have been identified as Jayden Woolery, a resident of Sherwood Forest, and his father David Woolery, a resident of Zion Hill, neighboring communities in Portland.
According to police reports, the accident occurred around 10:18 pm when David Woolery was driving a grey Suzuki Swift with Jayden and another little girl as passengers. As they traveled, the driver of a red Toyota Corolla attempted to overtake the Swift, resulting in a collision.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and transported Woolery and the two children to the hospital. Tragically, both Woolery and young Jayden were pronounced dead upon arrival. The other child, identified as Jayden’s sister, was admitted to the hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.
The driver of the red Corolla has been warned for prosecution as investigations into the accident continue.
