Farmer Shot to Death in St Elizabeth

Jamaica Crime News, St Elizabeth: A 65-year-old farmer was shot and killed, while riding his bicycle in the parish of St Elizabeth, on Wednesday, June 12.

The deceased has been identified as Altimond Rutherford, otherwise called “Donny” farmer of Fifes Pen, also in St Elizabeth.

Reports by the Black River police are that about 1:30 p.m., on Wednesday, Rutherford was riding a bicycle along a section of the Speculation main road, when he was ambushed by two armed men.

The men brandished handguns and opened fire hitting him multiple times to his upper body.

The police were summoned and upon their arrival, Rutherford was seen lying in a pool of blood along the roadway, with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body.

He was transported to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
