A family dispute over a phone charger turned deadly on Saturday when a man was allegedly stabbed to death during a physical confrontation in Boscobel View, St Mary.
The deceased has been identified as Nashawn Williams, also known as “Checo,” a resident of the community.
Police said Williams and a male family member became embroiled in a dispute over a phone charger at about 1:20 p.m.
Head of the St Mary Police Division, Superintendent Anthony Wallace, said the disagreement escalated into a physical confrontation, during which a knife was produced and Williams was stabbed in the abdomen.
An alarm was raised following the stabbing, and Williams was assisted to hospital. However, he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police have since launched a manhunt for the family member, who is allegedly responsible for the stabbing. The investigation remains ongoing.
