Jamaica Sports News: Excelsior high made it two wins from as many matches at the inaugural AFNA high
school champion of champions netball tournament, when they completely outplayed Soufriere of St. Lucia 66-18, on Tuesday evening at the Leila Robinson courts.
They registered quarterly scores of 16-7, 31-11 and 51-15.
Goal shooter Racoya Douglas led the way with 34 goals from 48 attempts, goal attack Hasana Williams got 24 from 35 and substitute goal shooter Ramona Edwards 8 from 12.
Scoring for Soufriere were goal attack Megan Nestor 11 from 34 attempts, goal shooters Richele James and Camille Lonvigville 5 and 2 respectively.
In their earlier matches, Excelsior registered victories over Anglican high school from Dominica 40-26 and springer memorial of Barbados 54-22.
In Tuesday’s other games, Christchurch foundation from Barbados beat St.Lucia’s Micoud secondary 41-16 and Scarbourough secondary of Trinidad and Tobago stopped Dominica state college 31-26.
Matches are played each day at the Leila Robinson courts, starting at 3 in the afternoon and admission is free.
