Jamaica News, Hanover: Traffic officers attached to the Lucea Police Department, in the parish of Hanover, are now carrying out an investigation into an accident which claimed the life of an elderly man in the parish on Saturday night, February 16.
The deceased has been identified as 79-year-old Amos Bissett, of Industrial Cove in Lucea, Hanover.
Reports by the Lucea police are that about 6:50 p.m., Mr. Brissett was riding a bicycle along the Industrial Cove main road.
On reaching a section of the roadway, Bissett reportedly lost control of the bicycle, and drove across the path of a Toyota coaster bus.
The police were summoned and upon their arrival, Brissett who sustained head injuries, was rushed to the Noel Holmes Hospital in Lucea, where he was pronounced dead.
