Elderly Man Charged With the Murder of 97-year-old Peter Abrahams

St Andrew, Jamaica (McN) – St. Andrew Police confirmed that they have laid charges against an elderly man for the murder of journalist and author, Peter Abrahams.

Charged with the murder of 97-year-old Peter Abrahams, is 61-year-old Norman Tomlinson of Cyprus District, Red Hills, St. Andrew.

Mr. Abrahams was found dead at his Red Hills, St Andrew home on Wednesday, January 18, with head injuries.

It was first speculated that he fell from his wheelchair injuring himself, leading to an accidental death; until postmortem examination revealed that Abrahams’ injuries were deliberately inflicted.

Investigations led the suspect Tomlinson, who was charged with murder of the aged Abrahams after  a question and answer session at the Constant Spring Criminal Investigations Branch (CIB).

Tomlinson’s court date is set to be announced after committal proceedings.
