Dancer ‘Dhq Chicken’ Shot Dead at Bar in Manchester

Manchester, Jamaica – A popular dancer known as “Dhq Chicken” was shot and killed early Thursday morning at a bar in the Richmond district of Manchester, prompting a police investigation into the fatal attack.

The victim has been identified as 26-year-old Brittania Francis, a resident of Brinkley district near Junction in St Elizabeth. She was reportedly at the bar with the owners around 1:30 a.m. when they were closing up for the night.

According to reports, gunshots rang out suddenly during the closing process. Francis was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Investigators also observed that a bullet had shattered one of the windows of a Toyota Voxy parked at the location.

Francis was rushed to the hospital, but despite efforts to save her, she died while undergoing treatment.

The motive behind the killing remains unknown at this time, and police say investigations are ongoing.

Francis, who was known in dancehall circles as “Dhq Chicken,” was reportedly active in entertainment events across the southern parishes.

Law enforcement officials are appealing to anyone with information that could assist in the investigation to contact the nearest police station or Crime Stop.
