Dancehall Artiste Shot Dead in Jamaica

A Dancehall artiste was shot dead before dawn today, July 20, following allegations that she launched a heinous attack on a licensed firearm holder during a domestic dispute at Sharper Lane, Old Harbour.

The deceased is Keneisha Brown, otherwise called Keshan, 24, from Hibiscus Drive in Marlie Mount, Old Harbour, St Catherine.

According to police reports, about 12:45 a.m., Brown tossed several stones in the licensed firearm holder’s car before attacking him and stabbing him several times.

He discharged one round from his weapon which hit Brown to the upper body. She was taken to hospital where she died while undergoing treatment.

The promising artiste, who ventured into music after graduating from Old Harbour High School in 2010, was optimistic about making a huge impact on the Dancehall scene, having released songs that got regular airplay.

She also collaborated with incarcerated Dancehall superstar Vybz Kartel on songs such a Bubble Up Yuh Body.

Her other songs included Need Your LoveWalk Out and Tricks Are For Kids.
