Jamaica Sports News: Luther Buchanan Gold Cup Final – Daaksyde and Bronx booked their place in the final of the Luther Buchanan Gold Cup following penalty shootout wins over Arawak Camp and Platinum Strikers respectively. Coming into the second leg locked at 0-0 Bronx and Platinum Strikers again played out a stalemate,however there was some controversy in the game when Platinum Strikers looked to have scored only for the official to call back the goal which raised questions to why was the goal ruled out,however play was resumed and Bronx were reduced to 10 men when Peter Green was shown a second yellow card which resulted in a red card, Bronx would still go on to win 7-6 in the penalty shootout.
Daaksyde had revenge when they knock Arawak Camp out with a 2-0 penalty shootout win, coming off the first leg with the scored tied at 1-1 Daaksyde took the lead in the first half when Gregory Rowe pounced on a rebound and fired his shot pass Brandon Campbell at the near post, Arawak Camp find an equalizer in a goalmouth scramble with Daaksyde failing to clear their line Carson Findley pounced in the lose ball with a toe-poke his shot through the crowded area into the back of the net to force penalty kicks. Daaksyde converted two kicks and Arawak Camp missed theirs. The final will be contested this Sunday, December 16 when Bronx and Daaksyde renew their longtime rivalry.
