World News – Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has officially achieved billionaire status, making history as the first footballer ever to earn the title, according to the Bloomberg Billionaire Index.
The financial tracker, which monitors the net worth of the world’s richest individuals, listed the Al-Nassr striker’s net worth at an astounding US$1.4 billion (£1.04 billion). The estimate factors in his career earnings, endorsements, and investments over more than two decades.
Between 2002 and 2023, Ronaldo reportedly earned over US$550 million (£410 million) in salaries alone. A large portion of his wealth also stems from sponsorships and brand deals, including his decade-long partnership with Nike, valued at nearly US$18 million (£13.4 million) per year.
When Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League in 2022, his annual salary exceeded US$237 million (£177 million). Following the end of his initial contract in June 2025, the football icon signed a new two-year deal reportedly worth more than US$400 million (£298 million).
The 40-year-old Portuguese forward continues to expand his brand through various business ventures, including his CR7 clothing line, hotels, and fragrance collections, further solidifying his legacy both on and off the field.
