Criminal Charges Laid Against Man Held with Illegal Gun in Kingston

Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: The Denham Town police have reported that they have now laid criminal charges against a man who was taken into custody, in connection with the seizure of an illegal firearm and several rounds of ammunition along Fourth Street in Kingston 12, on Monday, March 18.

The police have also reported that the identity of the accused is being withheld as he may be placed before an identification parade.

Reports by the Denham Town police are that about 3:30 p.m., a team of officers were on patrol in the area when they saw the accused along the roadway.

On seeing the lawmen approaching the accused started to act in a suspicious manner,  he was accosted and searched.

A search of his person resulted in the seizure of a  .38 Smith and Wesson revolver, two . 38 cartridges and two 9mm cartridges.

The accused was taken into custody and subsequently charged.
