Houston, TX — A Texas couple has been arrested and charged with attempting to kidnap and murder a man who was having an affair with the wife. The suspects, Hana Ahmad Alolaimi, 35, and Omar Mahmoud Bishtawi, 48, face charges of aggravated assault and aggravated attempted kidnapping, following a violent confrontation that left the victim hospitalized.
The victim, who chose to remain anonymous due to safety concerns, was shot twice and is currently recovering from his injuries. He recounted the harrowing experience in an interview with KHOU, stating that he ended his relationship with Alolaimi three months prior after it became “toxic.” Despite their breakup, Alolaimi reportedly continued to pursue him, even showing up at his new apartment.
According to court documents, Alolaimi and Bishtawi conspired to kidnap and kill the victim after learning about the affair. The plot unfolded when the victim entered a local Chick-fil-A. Alolaimi allegedly parked her vehicle next to his and gestured for him to come over when he exited the restaurant.
Once he entered her car, Alolaimi attempted to drive away, despite the victim’s insistence that he could not leave with her. At that moment, Bishtawi emerged from under a curtain in the back seat, placing the victim in a chokehold while pressing a firearm against his head.
In a desperate attempt to escape, the victim struggled against Bishtawi, who then shot him twice, including a severe wound to the thigh. According to court documents, the victim could have died from the thigh injury had he not received timely medical attention.
Investigators noted that both Alolaimi and Bishtawi provided conflicting statements regarding the incident, raising concerns for the victim’s future safety. The victim reported that Bishtawi told him he “had to die because he’d dishonored his wife,” highlighting the couple’s motivations for the attack.
Authorities continue to investigate the case as the suspects await trial. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the potential dangers associated with infidelity and jealousy in relationships.
