A 23-year-old construction worker has been formally charged with murder and multiple firearm-related offences in connection with the fatal shooting of a bar operator in the New Green district of Manchester last year.
The accused, Anthony Bailey, of Barrettpiece district in Kendal, was arrested on April 2, 2025, for the May 1, 2024 killing of 46-year-old Kerrean Nicole Airy, a bartender from Cumberland in Gregory Park, St Catherine.
Reports are that Airy was at her bar in New Green when a group of armed men entered the premises, demanded money, and then opened fire. Airy and another woman were shot during the incident. Both were rushed to hospital, where Airy was pronounced dead. The other woman was treated and later released.
Following ongoing investigations, Bailey was identified as a suspect and later charged after a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney.
He now faces seven charges, including:

The Manchester police have confirmed that a court date is being finalised.
Investigations are ongoing to determine if other suspects were involved in the deadly attack.
