Jamaica Crime News, Clarendon: Clarendon Pensioner Shot – Residents living in Comfort district are now expressing shock at the brutal killing of an elderly pensioner, who was chopped, shot and then set on fire, at his home on Monday morning, March 18.
The deceased has been identified as 69-year-old William Haye, pensioner of Comfort district.
Reports by the Four Paths police are that shortly after 2:30 a.m. on Monday, residents alerted the police after hearing gunshots being fired in the directions of Haye’s house.

Residents say they then saw his home on fire and also summoned the fire department. Upon the arrival of the firemen, the blaze was put out and cooling down exercise carried out.
The police then carried out a search of the burnt house, which led to the discovery of Haye’s body in a room of the house.
The victim had multiple gunshots and chop wounds to his upper body, along with burns from the fire which destroyed his home.
The scene was processed and the body transported to hospital where the victim was pronounced dead.
