Dancehall artiste Chronic Law has reportedly been released from the custody of United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), following several weeks of detention that sparked concern among fans and industry insiders.
The entertainer—whose real name is Ackeme Jermaine Campbell—confirmed his release by sharing images and videos on social media after appearing in court in Georgia.
He had been held at a detention facility in Florida since January 12, with limited public information available about his case during that time.
Public records indicate that Chronic Law was initially taken into custody in November 2025 in Turner County, Georgia, on multiple traffic-related charges. The development came as a surprise to many within the dancehall community.
Prior to his detention, the artiste had maintained a strong presence in Jamaica’s music scene, consistently ranking among the most-streamed acts on YouTube locally. His catalogue is known for its gritty themes and includes popular tracks such as Empty, Bless Me, Still A Bleed, and Walk With Faith.
While his release appears to mark a turning point, details surrounding the legal outcome of his case have not been fully disclosed.
